by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). The team has been regarded as
one of the most famous and successful national soccer teams in the world. The
team has won the most World Cup titles, and they reached the top four 11 times
and reached the final 5 times, and they won the title 5 times in 1958, 1962,
1970, 1994 and 2002.
Brazilian national soccer team has many
nicknames, and the most widely used by the fans is Canarinho, meaning
"Little Canary", a phrase that was popularized by the late cartoonist
Fernando "Mangabeira" Pieruccetti during the 1950 World Cup.
Pele, king of soccer, is the most famous
former soccer player in Brazil. From 1958 to 1970, Pele played in World Cup 4
times and won 3 titles, becoming the only player to win the World Cup title 3
times. In his 22-year professional career, he totally scored 1283 goals. He is
regarded as the greatest soccer player in the history of modern soccer.
Today, the most famous Brazilian soccer
player is Neymar Santos Junior. He is also a young talented player like Pele,
and he is treated as the one to succeed Pele. He is famous for fast dribbling
and amazing free kick. In June 2013, Neymar transferred to FC Barcelona for 57
million euro.
